Located within the reserve forest area near ITPL in Whitefield, Bangalore, the Kadugodi Tree Park is a boon for joggers, walkers and kids. The park has been developed by Government Of Karnataka as part of the Mission – 2022 for rejuvenation of the city. It is one of the three Tree Parks – the other two being in Turahalli and Machohalli. The Kadugodi Tree Park sprawls across an area of 22 acres and has been functioning since June 2021.
Diverse Flora
The park has over 8000 trees of more than 30 varieties. Each variety has a barcode or QR code. Scanning these codes on a mobile phone gives instant information about the trees.
Unique Bug Hotel
The highlight of the park is the ‘Bug Hotel’ facility which is basically a hotel for insects. It is made up of bamboo, wood, tiles, pipes, and bricks. It aims at creating an ecosystem for various kinds of insects, bugs, and crawlies like bees, worms, ladybugs, butterflies, ants, etc. Such Bug Hotels or Insect Sanctuaries are very common in Nature Parks all around the world as these help in the pollination and growth of insect societies.
Children's Park
The Kadugodi Tree Park houses a children’s park with various playground types of equipment like a see-saw, slide, merry-go-round, playground climbers, etc. The idea behind this community playground is to provide the kids with an opportunity to hone their social, cognitive, and physical skills. The Tree Park also makes a great place to teach children about the environment and the importance of preserving natural resources.
Open Air Gym and Joggers Track
There are spacious pathways all across the Kadugodi Tree Park that provides a means for people of all age groups to engage in physical activities like walking and jogging. There is also an Open Air Gym for adults with variety of equipments.
